Performance-based Targets for Commercial New Construction: The Building Owner’s Perspective

February 11, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am PST

Free
This webinar will explore the growing trend of building owners/developers moving toward performance-based energy metrics for new construction projects to achieve superior performing buildings. It will highlight how target setting through an integrative design process and involving all building stakeholders can reduce costs and streamline decision making.

Panelists will present the ENERGY STAR lifecycle approach to set energy design targets that inform operational performance (EPA), share experience in designing and implementing performance-based procurement programs through utility energy efficiency offerings (Slipstream), and discuss using energy use intensity targets to select design strategies from competing proposals and balancing aesthetics, performance, and budget, while maximizing energy performance (Mayo Clinic).

Speakers:
• Karen P. Butler, EPA
• Brett Gorden, PE, MBA, Section Head – Facilities Management, Mayo Clinic
• Lee Shaver, Energy Engineer, Slipstream
• Travis Michalke, PE, Senior Managing Consultant, Building Energy Analytics, ICF

Attend this webinar if you’re interested in:
• Performance-based energy targets
• New construction
• Energy use intensity
