The Smart Buildings Center (SBC) is a multi-functional energy efficiency headquarters on the first floor of the Pacific Tower Building in Seattle, Washington. Funded by the Washington State Department of Commerce, the SBC serves anyone within the state with an interest in better understanding energy efficiency in commercial and institutional buildings. Our specific focus is showcasing where smart meets efficient.
Two conference rooms and a large flexible training and event space can be reserved for industry trainings, events, classroom-style lectures, large-scale exhibits and demonstrations, and/or flexible presentations.
Tool Lending Library
Our tool lending library loans a wide spectrum of diagnostic tools, including data loggers, multi-meters, flow measurement devices, and more (and training on how to use them).
We have onsite demonstrations of the capabilities of analytical and visualization applications that can turn building performance data into actionable information for energy savings.
The SBC is a project of the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC). NEEC is a non-profit association representing the energy efficiency industry. NEEC also operates the Building Operator Certification program, a training and credentialing program for facility staff in commercial and institutional buildings.
